We helped the owner of this stunning Hatteras 54 buy this classic boat a couple of years back. Because it’s over 26 years old, there have been minor cosmetic issues that needed attention, and Mr. W. chose Intrinsic’s service department to take care of his list to begin the process of a minor boat restoration project on the exterior of the boat.
While we had the boat, we did prep and paint work on various parts of the exterior. We also had to straighten and re-bed stantions that were bent. The exterior boat restoration also included stripping and varnishing wood work, as well as removing orange peel from the last paint job on the side of the house. Our fiberglass/gelcoat tech took care of repairs of defects on various areas of the boat, and we also completed an engine room detail and a full hull wax.
Our Service Tech flushed and re-filled the hynautic system for the pilot house and flybridge controls, and we also installed a new 240V fresh water pump.
The end result was gorgeous, and the owner was raving about the quality of the work. The list of items on Phase 1 of the boat restoration project was extensive, and we were able to get everything completed in time for Mr. & Mrs. W to head out for a local rendezvous.
We just found out that she will be back in the fall to spend the winter with us to finish more paint work, extensive electrical and plumbing work – so she will be good as new in the spring! Check back to see everything we take care of in Phase 2 of the restoration project!
